My Health and Money Ask & Answer Guidelines
Since My Health and Money is a membership organization, we hope everyone will join in and share their success stories, ask questions, give opinions, identify good resources for care and costs, and meet new friends online.
Everyone is welcome to join the My Health and Money Ask & Answer as well as share and exchange experiences and information. In turn, we ask that all our members exercise courtesy and compassion by following these Guidelines to help create a positive, safe environment for everyone.
These Guidelines apply to all content posted to our site–including text, links, photos and videos–and will continue to evolve over time as our Community grows.
Things you should know
Our site should be used for educational purposes, consumer-to-consumer conversation, and support only. Any information that is posted by our members is not meant to be a substitute for professional/medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, financial planning or insurance coverage verification.
My Health and Money does not edit Ask & Answer content, but we retain the right to remove any content that we deem Inappropriate or Unacceptable (see below). We may also warn the member or temporarily ban a member altogether, depending on the gravity of the situation and/or frequency of violations.
Remember you're in public. The information you post in a Ask & Answer post that you make viewable can be seen by anyone who is on the Internet. This is not a closed community. Since healthcare is personal, most places on the website provide you with the ability to post anonymously. Please login or sign up and add a profile name so that you can post to Ask & Answer.
Best Practices
Stay on topic. If you would like to change the subject, feel free to submit a new question or find an existing one that matches your interest.
Practice good judgment. Use discretion when discussing sensitive topics.
Try to focus on the facts. Describing your individual experience is helpful. Spreading rumors and secondhand information is not.
Approach things from both sides, both the pluses and minuses. A healthy debate is always welcome. Mean-spirited exchanges are not.
Refrain from using strong vulgar language or inappropriate sexual references. Also, please do not harass, verbally attack or threaten others.
Inappropriate or Unacceptable Behavior:
Posting private information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, driver's license numbers or private contact information.
Posting content that isn't yours, whether copyrighted or someone else's personal material.
Pretending to be someone else or claiming false credentials.
Using Ask & Answer for commercial or advertising purposes.
Using Ask & Answer as an opportunity to libel another person.
Engaging in, linking to, or promoting illegal activities or content.
Collecting or posting personal information about someone else unless it's OK with them.
Asking other members for money or financial assistance in any way.
Being part of Ask & Answer, means self-policing. If you see anything posted Ask & Answer areas that you feel is inappropriate or not in agreement with these Guidelines, please let us know by clicking on the "report abuse" link on the page.
